David graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1982. He then spent the next 5 years working in Yorkshire before migrating here to Australia in 1987. Shortly after, David made the move to Jan Juc in 1989 where he opened Torquay Osteo Clinic, servicing the SurfCoast community for over 30 years. Can you believe David was originally the only osteopath from Geelong to Adelaide?!
David is a structural Osteopath, using massage, articulation and manipulation where appropriate. After 40 years of treating, David still thoroughly loves what he does and enjoys working in a supportive clinic with younger practitioners to discuss the best management for patients with complex presentations and stay up to date with current research.
David is very interested in ergonomics and the biomechanics of injury. David believes that prevention is far better than cure, so identifying aggravating factors and adapting them is a particular interest. Osteopaths see different complaints and patients every day, this variety and challenge makes it a constantly stimulating job.
David loves living in Jan Juc: “the best surf breaks, great beach and community”. You might catch him swimming out from Cosy corner every week.
Since selling Torquay Osteo clinic he is happy to still be able to work in the same great location with reduced work hours and less listening to voicemails – which means more time for travel and family which is always exciting!
