Are you suffering from Shoulder Pain & Injuries?
The shoulder joint’s unique and complex design is all about mobility but at the sacrifice of stability. The shallow ball and socket joint gets its stability from ligaments, muscles and the joint capsule (labrum). Due to this design, the shoulder can be injured when one of the stability systems becomes compromised and thus shoulder pain is very common.
In younger people, pain is more likely to be due to an accident or injury. However as you age, natural wear and tear occurs in the shoulder joint and the rotator cuff tendons – a group of four muscles responsible for movement and stability of the shoulder. Rotator cuff tendinopathy is a very common problem that refers to pain and weakness when moving the shoulder. This may also be associated with bursitis – which is swelling of the fluid filled sacs that help reduce friction in and around the shoulder joint.
